Construction of Canada’s largest Toyota dealership officially launched at the Richmond Auto Mall

 December 15, 2017 (Richmond, B.C.) – Construction has officially commenced on Canada’s largest Toyota dealership following an official groundbreaking ceremony by key officials on the site of the new OpenRoad Toyota Richmond.

Christian Chia, President of OpenRoad Auto Group along with Cyril Dimitris, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Toyota Canada and Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie were the first to break ground at the location where the future 205-thousand square foot, $50 million Toyota facility will be built. Located in the Richmond Auto Mall, the state-of-the-art new structure will be a landmark dealership for both Toyota Canada and OpenRoad, and will replace OpenRoad’s current Toyota dealership, located just down the street from the new site.

“With two Toyota stores in Richmond and Port Moody, OpenRoad has a long history and a strong brand alignment with Toyota Canada that dates back almost 40 years, ” said Christian Chia, President of OpenRoad Auto Group. “So this new store is especially exciting for us because it will allow us to deliver an elevated Toyota customer experience in a facility like none other in the entire country.”

The new Toyota Richmond dealership will feature 30 service bays, two alignment bays, a full service café, two customer lounges, a children’s play area, a customer drive-through service reception, express service bays, two automatic car washes and six detail bays. The new 15-thousand square feet showroom will accommodate up to 36 vehicles on two levels and will offer ten indoor new vehicle delivery bays. The new OpenRoad Tis expected to be completed by mid-2019.

As B.C.’s largest automotive retail group, the new OpenRoad Toyota Richmond dealership is part of OpenRoad’s continued expansion throughout Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley and into the United States. Most recently, OpenRoad relocated Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and OpenRoad Hyundai Boundary to newly built and renovated locations. Earlier this year, the company acquired a Bentley Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce dealership in Bellevue Washington, in addition to adding Karma Auto Vancouver to the OpenRoad family. Future projects include the new Porsche Richmond and new locations for OpenRoad Honda and OpenRoad Hyundai Richmond.
